Factory or pre finished wood floors can be more affected more by cat urine than are site finished wood floors. Depending on the deepness of the stain you may have to actually soak the spots with hydrogen peroxide. Repeat this process if necessary. To remove cat urine from wood floors clean the floor with warm water and white vinegar which will help neutralize the bad odors.

You will have to use enough enzymatic cleaner to thoroughly soak all areas including underlying rug pads or the stuffing of furniture that have been dampened by cat pee. White vinegar is known to have a disinfectant and deodorizing effect which can help with your pet stains. Hydrogen peroxide is non toxic and effectively cleans germs and bacteria as well as undesirable odor. Clean up any excrement and then blot the entire area with paper towels.

Sadly mopping or scrubbing the rings with regular cleaners does nothing to improve their appearance and may make urine odors more obvious. The urine has soaked into the floor through the gaps or cracks down to the tongues and grooves and beyond. You can also make a cleaning solution by mixing hydrogen peroxide liquid dish soap and baking soda. Thoroughly clean the floor with a broom followed up by two damp mops with the mop thoroughly pressed out so that it feels almost dry to the touch.

Leave each towel on each blemished spot for a few hours and check repeatedly every hour to see if the stain is coming up. Then you coat it and there is a chemical reaction with the organic compounds still in the wood or lurking in the cracks and gaps. First scrub the spots with a peroxide soaked cloth and let them dry. If you use a hydrogen peroxide solution let it sit on the urine stain for a couple of hours before cleaning it up.

Sometimes you may sand the floor stain it and tint it to where it looks 100 percent better. White vinegar baking soda and hydrogen peroxide are common suggestions to clean up a urine stain on a wood floor. If the stains and odor are not sufficiently removed cover the stain with a paper towel or soft wipe saturated with peroxide. Coat the floor with a water based urethane finish.

Removing the stains requires an oxidizing and bleaching agent like hydrogen peroxide. Spray the urine stain thoroughly and let the cleaner sink into the carpet for 10 15 minutes and blot up as much of the liquid as possible. Wash the area with white vinegar rinse with warm water then blot dry.
